Not everyone needs a desk phone (or wants one).

After testing over 30 different headsets and brands, we prepared the following list of the 5 best wireless Bluetooth headsets we recommend for the demands of daily use at work. Our recommendation standards are high because work communications require highly reliable solutions — or it’s simply not a solution. If you have any questions about our recommendations or you’d like to request a quote to provide headsets for everyone in your office, please give us a call anytime to discuss your project and how we can help.

Is a “UC version” with USB Adapter really necessary?

Almost all Bluetooth headsets easily connect with today’s cell phones, so you would think it should be just as simple to connect a wireless headset to your PC.  You might feel that buying the “UC” version headsets with a USB adapter isn’t something you need, since most PCs have built-in Bluetooth these days. If so, the standard Bluetooth model should work fine, right? Maybe, but then again, maybe not.

Here are a few points to consider:

  1. Not all computers have the latest version of Bluetooth built-in. The included USB adapter matches the correct Bluetooth version the headset requires.
  2. Audio quality is typically better and more consistent when you use the USB adapter.
  3. You normally get a longer wireless range when you use the USB adapter instead of a typical built-in Bluetooth connection.
  4. With the USB adapter, your connection is more reliable and easier to move between computers without pairing.
  5. Integration of your headset’s buttons to answer and end calls with your PC software is often available only by using the USB adapter.

OpenComm is Shokz’s first Bluetooth headset designed specifically for communication and it’s a home run! Using bone conduction technology and featuring an open-ear design, OpenComm enables clear communication through the DSP noise-canceling boom microphone and helps you stay connected to your surroundings while you’re on the road, on a job site, or at your desk.

A headset like this, using bone conduction, can enhance the lives of some people with hearing loss.  Unlike traditional headphones that use air to transmit sound through the eardrum, bone conduction technology transmits sound by mini vibrations through the skull, to the inner ear, bypassing the eardrums. And since they sit outside the ear and not in or on the ear, people with hearing aids can easily and comfortably wear this headset.
